I would like to thank you for visiting TreeLine Putters.  My name is Bart Nordstrom, I am the owner, designer, and manufacturer of TreeLine Putters.  I’d like to take a few moments and tell you how I got into this business.

For the past 3 decades I’ve been a cabinet/furniture maker, and an avid golfer.  A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to build my own set of golf clubs.  So I ordered some components and went to work in my shop doing just that.  I really liked those clubs and I really liked the fact that I’d built every club in my bag, except for my putter.  The fact that I hadn’t built my own putter bothered me, and I couldn’t find any components that I liked, so after some long and hard thinking, I decided to make my own putter, out of wood.

At the time, I didn’t know how they’d turn out, but one thing I can tell you for sure, is that the first few I made were not very pretty!  In fact, most folks that saw them would just shake their head and chuckle.  The one thing I had going for me though was the fact that they were solid, accurate putters and I made some awesome putts with those early, ugly models.

To make a long story short, over time, my putters began to take on some awesome shapes, and they were starting to turn heads.  The hard part was keeping them as playable as the first ugly models, and making them appealing to the eye as well.

I’ve been through at least 5 generations of what I call the Blade putter.  It took three generations until I had it to where it could compete with the top name brand putters in the industry.  The last two generations have simply been icing on the cake.

I walked through the first three generations of the Blade putter within the first 1-1/2 years of production.  I knew I had something when I attended the National Golf Course Superintendents Association Show of America, in San Diego.  I just happened to have a third generation Blade putter with me (actually it was in my car at the time) at the show.  While I was looking at some artificial turf at one of the booths, a salesman came up to me and asked if I’d like to putt a ball around and test the turf for ball performance?  I looked up at him and noticed he had a putter in his hand.  I accepted his offer, I hadn’t even noticed what kind of putter he’d handed me, I simply went to putting.  On my first ball strike, I felt an irritable vibration in the putter (I must’ve struck the ball a bit off center).  All of a sudden I’d totally forgotten why I was there and began studying the putter I was holding instead of the artificial turf which had drawn my attention in the first place.  It was a $400.00 Scotty Cameron made by Titleist, I was dumb-struck!  How in the world could a famous company produce such an expensive putter and yet not feel very solid when it struck the ball.  I did some quick putter balancing tests and such, all the while the salesman was staring at me wondering what the heck I was doing?

Finally I turned to the salesman and said, “The putters I make are by far better than this Scotty Cameron.”  The salesman's eyes got big and he asked me, “You make putters?”  I then told him about my putters.  He wanted to see one, so I told him I’d bring one back later after dinner.

After dinner I showed up with my third generation TreeLine Blade putter, and to make another long story short, not just the salesman, but everyone in the booth, which was not a few, and it was a giant booth, had to try out my TreeLine Putter.  In every case, with every tester, and without exception, my TreeLine Blade putter was chosen over the Scotty Cameron putter for performance and beauty.  Since then, I can’t tell you how many Scotty Cameron putter users have switched to my TreeLine Blade putter, but I can tell you that again it’s not a few.  I’ve improved the Blade putter two more times since then, and it’s as good a blade putter as I’ve and many other golfers have ever used.

In the past two years, I’ve designed and perfected the TrainRail and the DoubleDot putters, and I have to tell you that these two putters are very serious putters.  The DoubleDot putter which has been nicknamed the “Intimidator” by some is just a wonderful putter.  Most of my clients think that the DoubleDot is the most beautiful putter they’ve ever seen, I’ve even been told that it’s the most beautiful handcrafted item they’ve ever seen.  And the performance is out of this world.

Clients seem to be drawn to the DoubleDot because of it’s beauty, but in reality, the TrainRail putter has even better features for putting than the DoubleDot.  The weight in the TrainRail is spread out more and there’s something about those white stripes representing a train rail leading to the hole.  It just works!  When you strike the ball, it’s like a locomotive driving through, smooth, straight, and “In The Hole.”

I’d like to say something about our “No Swing Weight” putter too.  As you see in the caption at the bottom of the “No Swing Weight” page, it only comes in the TrainRail or the DoubleDot models.  It may be available in the Blade model later, but until I can do some prototypes and get the weight right, it’ll have to wait.  This is a very unique putter, and the effects are even more unique.  The sound at ball impact is as if the putter head were made out of expensive porcelain (of course depending on what type of golf ball you're using).  You can’t tell that it’s a “No Swing Weight” putter just by looking at it, because it looks just like a TrainRail, or DoubleDot putter, until you pick it up that is.  Our No Swing Weight putter is an upgrade of the TrainRail or DoubleDot putters.  I do have to make sure that the head finishes out real close to 400 grams.  I don’t think this putter would work out in a belly, or chest putter.  I do carry a “No Swing Weight” putter in my own bag.

All of our TreeLine putter models are top notch putters in functionality, performance and aesthetics, you need to try them and you’ll see for yourself.  You’ll probably never use any other putter again.

Again I want to thank you for visiting TreeLine Putters.  If there is any way I can serve you, please feel free to email me at bart@treelineputters.com.

Sincerely,

Bart Nordstrom
