WOOD TYPE: BLOODWOOD (Above)

Bloodwood is also known as cardinal wood or saltine.  It is a rich, brick-red color that keeps its color over time, unlike many other red-toned woods.  Bloodwood is a hard, dense, heavy wood with a very fine, even texture that finishes smoothly.  It comes from South America. Note:  (available in all 3 models).

WOOD TYPE: ROSEWOOD (Above)

Esteemed for centuries as one of the finest and most beautiful woods in the world.  Very hard, dense, and oily, taking a high polish, mostly straight-grained appearance with variegated brown to violet heartwood with irregular black streaks.  Rosewood is favored among fine instrument craftsman as material for guitars & violins. Rosewood is native to India & South America (available in all three models).

WOOD TYPE: ZEBRAWOOD (Above)

Medium-to-heavy hardwood, with light tan to golden yellow and streaks of dark brown to black, which is very attractive to the eye.  Native to Africa (available in all 3 models).

WOOD TYPE: BUBINGA (Above)

This West African hardwood is also known as African Rosewood.  Color varies from red to brown or violet, with streaks or lines of dark purple.  Hard and heavy, with somewhat of a wavy grain.  This wood is the hardest wood we’ve ever worked with.  We are always breaking router blades and saw teeth with this wood. In fact, we think it’s hard enough not to need a polymer strike-plate, but we insert one anyway, for aesthetic purposes. Note: Putter on the right is an earlier model. (available in all 3 models).

WOOD TYPE: COCOBOLO (Above)

One of the most beautiful woods in the Rosewood family, this wood is red to orange with variegated black striping.  Very dense and oily, taking a high polish. Cocobolo is native to Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panama.  We purchase Cocobolo by the pound. (It is our #1 seller, & available in all 3 models).

WOOD TYPE: EBONY (Above)

You know the saying? "Ebony & Ivory".  Well, we may not be using Ivory for the strike plate and target lines, but it is real Ebony, and together with the light colored acrylic inlays, it really does resemble "Ebony & Ivory."  This is an amazingly beautiful putter!

Ebony is to American Black Walnut, or Cherry, or Maple, what Diamonds and Rubies are to Sandstone.

Jet Black in color, with a slight possibility of dark brown streaks, this rare African wood is very heavy and expensive, and priced by the pound, making it our most expensive model.  Available in all three models, however, DoubleDot & TrainRail models may take a month or two more to produce, due to the fact that this wood cannot be glued up to get a big enough piece to make a larger putter head, therefore we sometimes have to order it in, and sometimes we have to wait for it to arrive from Africa, however it is worthy of the wait.

Note: The two photos above, are of an earlier blade model.  The new model has a wider (longer) strike plate, and improved weight distribution.  New photos of our current model are coming soon!
